창의력은 엉뚱한데서 나오는 경우가 많다.
일상 생활에서 "이게 너무 불편한데...."라고 자주 생각하는 귀차니스트의 머릿속에서 나오는 경우가 많다.
물론 창의력은 그냥 게으르게 살면 나오는 것이 아니라 나름의 치열한 INPUT을 필요로 하기도 한다. (창의력 전문가들이 강조하는 일반인들의 오해에 대한 해답이다.)
일본 사람들이 여러 기발한 일상의 발명품을 많이 만들어 내는데... 아래의 것들은 서양 문화에 초점이 맞춰져 있다는 느낌이다. (골프도 그렇고, 와인도 그렇고..)
세계에서 가장 엉뚱한 발명품은?
만일 노벨상이 세계에서 가장 엉뚱한 발명품에게도 주어진다면, 강력한 수상 후보작들이 여기 있다. 미국 뉴욕 데일리 뉴스는 얼마 전 세계 가장 엉뚱한 32가지 발명품들은 선정, 사진과 함께 소개했다. 첫 번째 발명품은 “팬티장갑.” 흰색 속옷과 똑 같은 형태와 재질로 만들어 졌다. 부드러운 순면 감촉으로 손을 보호할 수 있을 것 같으나, 다소 민망해 보인다. 또 다른 아이템은, 겉보기에는 평범한 와인 잔. 하지만, 이 한 잔의 글라스에 와인 한 병 전체를 담을 수 있다고 한다. 두 잔 이상을 마셨다간 건강을 해칠 수 있음을 유의해야 한다. 자나깨나 골프생각 밖에 안하는 애호가라면 화장실용 골프 퍼팅 세트 구입을 추천한다.
또 집안일을 힘들어 하는 사람들을 위한 발명품도 있다. "고양이 발걸레"가 그것이다. 집안 청소를 사랑하는 애완동물과 함께 사이좋게(?) 나눠서 하자는 취지에서 만들어진 것 같다. 문제는 고양이가 본능적으로 자주 발바닥을 핥는다는 사실이다. 소개한 것 이외에도, 자동회전 스파게티 포크, 셀프 연주 아코디언, 훌라 의자 등 특이하고 기발한 발명품들이 소개됐다.

The NY Daily News has recently picked up some of the world’s stupidest inventions of all time.
The first nominee is the “Handerpants Glvoes” for those who would want to try on a pair of underwear on their hands to keep warm. They are just like tightie-whites of yours made with soft cotton, according to its description.
For a wine lover, there is a wine glass made that holds an entire bottle of wine. Surely, it is not recommended to pure yourself another glass.
"Potty putter,” is an invention for enthusiastic golf fans who are not satisfied with just reading a golf magazine while doing their “business.” With the toy putter, you can now ace your putting game while enjoying comport of your own toilet.
If you are tired of house chores, why not strap the “Cat duster slippers” on your cat’s paws? With this invention your kitty can help dust your floors as it stroll around. The downside is, however, you have to ignore the fact that they frequently lick their paws.
There is a plenty of other weird but funny inventions such as a twirling spaghetti fork, a hula chair, a self-playing harmonica and an umbrella rain tube etc.
